Colombian international striker Alfredo Morelos has emerged as a transfer target for Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne ahead of the January transfer window, Birmingham Live understands.
According to French media publication Le10Sport, the Rangers forward has also attracted the interest of Aston Villa despite being monitored by Saint Etienne manager Claude Puel.
Puel was at the helm of Leicester City before he was shown the door in February 2019 - Morelos was reportedly linked with a move to the Foxes.
The report further added that the Ligue 1 outfit has been monitoring Morelos for his exploits in the UEFA Europa League where he has scored 10 goals from 11 matches played.
Aston Villa have also been tipped as the side to acquire his services, with Dean Smith's side believed to be ready to make a quick move for the 23-year-old in January.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard commented on Morelos' future at Ibrox: “They (teams) can have a look at him if they want, but he’s signed here for a long time,” he said.
