Scotland international James Forrest has admitted his excitement ahead of his first-ever final against rivals Rangers, Daily Star reported.
The two Old Firm rivals are set to meet in the Scottish League Cup final on December 8- this final comes since their last matchup in 2016.
Both sides secured decent wins from their semifinals over the weekend at Hamden Park with Celtic winning 5-2 over Hibernian while Rangers went on to beat Hearts 3-0 respectively.
Rangers are having a season of their life which finds them on the same level of points with rivals and reigning Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.
Forrest has been playing for the club since 2009 and is in contention to play in his final and believes that it is a massive opportunity for him as a player.
“It will be a tough game but we’re looking forward to it. In the last few years we’ve played them in semi-finals but to meet them in a final is a big one,” he said.
“I was in the stands the last time when Rangers won it but it was a good while ago.
“I haven’t played against them in a final, so it would be a good one to be involved in.
“It’s a big game any time you play against Rangers. But to do it in a cup final is huge.”
