Ajax captain Dusan Tadic has blasted referee Gianluca Rocchi, accusing him of 'robbing' them of their win in a pulsating 4-4 draw against Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The Dutch side were well on course to record a huge win against Frank Lampard's side, but their three-goal lead was wiped out as Ajax were shown two quick red cards to hand a numerical advantage to Chelsea.
It was an entertaining clash as the visitors took the lead inside two minutes, with the hosts levelling two minutes later.
Ajax surged into a 3-1 lead by the 35th minute and scored a fourth 10 minutes after the break.
Chelsea then pulled one back through Cezar Azpilicueta, before bizarre incidents that saw Daley Blind and Joel Veltman red-carded as Chelsea were awarded a penalty.
They completed their comeback with Recce James' fourth goal, but Tadic believes they were the better side overall and should have won were it not for the centre referee.
"We were much better. We should just talk about our game because we had 4-1 and everything was under control and then one man steals everything from us," said Tadic.
"Big disappointment, because we should just talk about Ajax and how we play nice football, but we cannot because one guy came and stole everything,"
"We saw a situation where there’s a foul on Daley Blind, then it’s not the second yellow for Daley Blind, then it’s not second yellow for Joel Veltman, then it’s not a penalty,"
"I have never in my life seen triple punishment, never. But everything starts with a foul on Daley Blind, he was tackled by Pulisic I think,"
"We should just be talking about how Ajax played much better than Chelsea but we cannot because somebody destroyed our game,"
The draw, coupled with Valencia's win over Lille sees the three teams top the group on seven points, with two rounds of matches remaining and a total of six points up for grabs.
