Following a red card shown to Claudio Bravo in the latter stages of the Atalanta clash, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed why Kyle Walker was selected the emergency goalkeeper.
Ederson was withdrawn at half-time with a suspected injury as Claudio Bravo emerged from the tunnel to feature in the second half.
With 10 minutes remaining, Bravo was sent off for a foul on Josip Ilicic who was through on goal with Walker coming from the subs bench as Riyadh Mahrez was sacrificed.
Speaking after the 1-1 draw against Atalanta, Guardiola revealed why Walker was chosen as the emergency goalkeeper, "We didn't know before but Xavi Mancisidor, our goalkeeper coach, suggested him for his courage and because he is quick.
"We are lucky we only conceded one shot on target when he was in goal but congratulations for the courage and desire to help the team in this position."
