Uganda Premier League club Mbarara City have reportedly rehired Brian Ssenyondo as their head coach after the sacking of Paul Nkata, Kawowo Sports confirmed.
Ssenyondo was the interim coach for about two months and then he later became the assistant coach under Nkata before he was demoted to the junior team.
“He is back and even preparing to conduct morning training ahead of the visit of Onduparaka,” a source close to the team told Kawowo Sports on Monday.
Mbarara City managed to finish third in the preseason Pilsner Super Eight tournament under the tutelage of Ssenyondo, however, he only won one game out of five league matches played.
The 26-year-old was eventually shown the door after the Ankole Lions played to a 2-2 draw against Vipers, this came days after the side had suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Express FC.
Ssenyondo's first match upon his return will be at home against Onduparaka on Tuesday, November 12.
