Zambia U23 national team striker Fashion Sakala says this evening match against the defending Champions, Nigeria is a must-win game.
Fashion who missed the goalless draw against South Africa arrived in Cairo on Monday morning. The KV Oostende expressed happiness at joining his teammates in Egypt.
"I really feel good. I was looking forward to this. I was not happy to miss the first game I felt it was important for us to win the game but I understand because they fought hard and it's normal to get a point," he said.
" Now it's a time for us to fight and work hard. Looking forward to the game against Nigeria, I think we just have to win and there is no need to make excuses we just have to work hard and win the game."
Fashion Sakala believes the team has what it takes to reach the final of the U23 AFCON tournament.
"That we are back we need to show our quality and work as a team and I believe we can do it, " he said.
"I think this is a very good team. I believe in my teammates, We are working hard together and I think we can reach the final. I don't care what happened in the first game, Now it's time to concentrate in the next two games as they are must-win games. So am pretty sure we can get the cup," he added.
The former Zanaco forward has been in good form for the Belgian outfit and feels he is in good form and will try to replicate the form at the tournament.
"Personally am in good form and good shape. Zambians always expect me to score goals and I will try my best. I have done a lot but it's not enough for my country I just have to continue working hard. I am hoping to score goals and help the team reach the final," he said.
Zambia will square off with Nigeria at 20:00hrs at the Al-Salaam Stadium while South Africa plays Ivory Coast at 17:00hrs.
