Wolves teenage midfielder Campbell set for new professional contract

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly in contention to offer young midfielder Chem Campbell a new professional contract, Birmingham Live revealed.

According to the report, Wolves highly value the 16-year-old and are believed to be eager to award the youngster for his performances before his 17th birthday at the end of December.

However, Bundesliga teams Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and RB Leipzig have emerged as the teams who are currently monitoring his movements in hopes of signing him in the January transfer window.

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo has reportedly been impressed with the youngster, to a point that he invited him to train with the first team.

Campbell was handed his senior debut in October during Wolves' 2-1 loss to archrivals Aston Villa in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

The youngster featured for 68 minutes of the match which was played at Villa Park before he was substituted for Bernard Ashley-Seal.

The teenage sensation has now become the second-youngest player to feature for Wolves, where he was part of the travelling squad to Slovakia for the UEFA Europa League match against Slovan Bratislava back in October.
