Manchester United midfielder Tahith Chong has told the club that he won’t renew his contract with the team according to reports from Italian outlet Calciomercato.
The 19-year old contract with United is coming to an end in June 2020 and United fear the wide man could walk out of the club for nothing at the end of the season with Juventus said to have shown interest.
The hierarchy is said to be doing all they can to convince him to stay to avoid the situation they experience with midfielder Paul Pogba who left for Juventus before being resigned for a then world-record fee of £89million.
Chong has made just four senior appearances this season with his last one coming in Manchester United's 1-0 defeat by Newcastle on October 6; the teenager having joined United from Feyenoord in 2016.
The Italian champions have made a habit of signing players on free transfers, having brought in the likes of Sami Khedira, Dani Alves and Aaron Ramsey in recent years.
