Zambia national team stand-in coach Aggrey Chiyangi has sent warning shots to Algeria saying they should know that Zambia is in Blida to compete.
Chiyangi went on to declare the team ready for the encounter. He went on to say that the players are full of confidence.
“We know that they are African champions but they must know that this is a new competition that is starting, they won the last one (2019) and this one is starting, we are here to compete,” he said.
“The team is ready for the game and the confidence amongst the players is high and all of the players are ready and we are hoping for a better result tomorrow,” he added.
Zambia has missed the last two AFCON tournaments and Chiyangi wants to change that made put smiles on the fans' faces.
“So far we have missed qualification to two AFCONs we have to make sure that for this one we qualify because it is going to bring a lot of happiness to the Zambian people.”
Zambia commences its journey for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with a crunch encounter against defending champions, Algeria in Blida this evening. Kickoff is at 21:00 hours (CAT).
