Sofapaka to test Mathare United resolve as Gor Mahia, Leopards hit the road

The Kenyan Premier League hits its tenth week on Wednesday 20 November with all the teams all set for action.

KPL will now be a concentration for Bandari FC and Gor Mahia who have played fewer games over the others due to their involvement with the CAF Confederations Cup; Bandari hosting AFC Leopards with Gor Mahia traveling to Kisumu on Thursday to take on Kakamega Homeboyz.

Actiaon though starts on Wednesday where Sofapaka FC, buoyed by the elevation of coach John Baraza to the head coach position, taking on an unbeaten Mathare United side who placed fourth on the log at the MISC Kasarani.

This is another chance to cover the space between them and the top teams after starting the season at a slow pace; the past nine outings having earned the Batoto ba Mungu partly eleven points. A win for Mathare United will see them perch at the top of the log as they wait for Thursday's actions.

AFC Leopards in Mbaraki

Meanwhile, Leopards will be hoping that the two weeks rest accorded to them by the international break gave them the needed time to re-energize after their last week’s loss at the hands of arch-rivals Gor Mahia. They will, however, have to do that without the services of Collins Sichenje who is nursing an injury when Bandari hosts them in Mbaraki.

Bandari who finds themselves placed 11th with eleven points is aware that they can't afford to drop more points as they seek to replicate last season’s performance that saw them represent Kenya in the continental stage.

Gor Mahia used the international break to feature in a friendly clash in Libya and with a chunk of players having been around for training, they should be ready to tackle Homeboyz who have threatened to tear the form book.
