Warriors and Kaizer Chiefs striker Khama Billiat has blessed his former school with goods of R100 000.
Together with representatives of his Khama Billiat Foundation, Billiat stopped in Gwinyiro to delight one of the institutions that helped to shape his successful football career.
"I was giving back to the school that l went to. I brought some sanitary pads, soccer kits, netball kits," Billiat told The Herald.
I sincerely hope that helping my former xul and caring for education will become the common undertaking of all the alumni, not only at this xul,but around Zimbabwe,Africa & the globe as homage 2 the gardens that made us the bloomin flowers we r 2day#InGodWeTrust @KhamabilliatNPO pic.twitter.com/JLuv6YRTT8— Khama Billiat Official (@khama_Billiat11) November 13, 2019
"It took long for me to do it, I don’t know why but I thought, maybe, I would do it with the Khama Billiat Foundation. It’s still new and we started it not so long ago.”
Billiat is now currently with the Zimbabwe national team who take on neighbours Zambia in a key AFCON 2021 qualifier this evening.
"I found it proper for my team to fly this side and do it here while I am in camp. It is not about soccer only; we just want to try and help as much as we can.”
"And, that includes the disadvantaged people and the disabled people. Everyone needs help, but we should be honest with ourselves that there are some people who need help more than others."
