Joey Antipas has been forced to offer his reasons to select Knowledge Musona after many have questioned the call.
Musona was particularly made a scapegoat for last Friday’s goalless draw against Botswana in a matchday one AFCON 2021 qualifier.
Much of the questions are backed by Musona’s non-existent game-time at his Begian club RSC Anderlecht.
“Its just a matter of time before he delivers for us. He (Musona) could not be playing regularly for the first team at but he is training regularly and he is playing games regularly for the reserve side,” Antipas told journalists.
“Although he has been criticised, even us as coaches have been criticised for starting him because of lack of game time, but we know that he can deliver and he retains the captaincy of the team,” added the Warriors coach.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe are in Lusaka to take on Zambia this evening for a matchday two AFCON 2021 qualifier.
