Kariobangi Sharks have landed their first-ever front shirt sponsor after officially unveiling their one year renewable deal with Betway.
The financial worth of the deal was not revealed in the launch but the betting firm is also looking to partner with Sharks for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Sharks have previously had Teke Taxi and Ganji at the back of their shirts but the branding was unclear whether it was part of the club's sponsors.
Speaking at the launch of the sponsorship, Sharks CEO, Robert Maoga insisted that the club is not focusing on the financial aspect of the deal, "The going has been tough for the 18 years in existence without a sponsor, however, we don't look at the financial value of this sponsorship, but we are looking at other factors."
The betting firm's Country Manager, Leon Kiptum revealed that the deal will also involve CSR activities, "We have had a partnership with Kariobangi Sharks in CSR programs, we recently visited Dandora together with St.John's Ambulance to train on basic medical skills that could save lives on the field."
Sharks are in action at 3 PM today as they take on Ulinzi Stars at the MISC Kasarani.
"We couldn't ask for a better partner than @Betway_KE, they have a network that we can tap into, we look forward to more than monetary partnership" @Bitengo, Kariobangi Sharks Chairman#BetwaySharks#WeAreSharks pic.twitter.com/ckI9EyL9PX— Kariobangi Sharks FC (@k_sharksfc) November 21, 2019
