Zambia U20 national team head coach Osward Mutapa says he wants to beef up the U20 squad from last year with new players ahead of the U20 COSAFA Championships slated for Lusaka next month.
Mutapa confirmed that there is a lot of competition in the team for places. Mutapa said he is looking at coming up with a very strong that's why he has lined up a number of friendly matches throughout this week.
"our main aim is to see which players can make the team. We want to beef up last year's team with new faces hence there is a lot of competition for places, " he said.
"They are doing fine and competing for places which are good. At the end of the day, we want to come up with a strong team that's why we playing a lot of friendlies this week before we get into specifics next week," he said.
The tournament which kicks of the 4th of December will be the third in a row to be hosted in Zambia and Mutapa believes this might the time to win it on home soil after failing to win the previous two editions.
"We have to work hard and take our chances. Hosting for the third time hopefully, we can play the final this year and at the end of the day win it," he said
