I think we improved, says Emery after Frankfurt defeat

Unai Emery says Arsenal showed signs of improvement despite suffering a 2-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put Arsenal ahead just before half time but the Gunners conceded two goals in the second half thanks to Daichi Kamada's brace. The result put Emery under pressure as the north London side extended their winless run to seven matches in all competitions.

The home supporters welcomed the final whistle with a chorus of boos with the fans holding up banners which read "Emery Out. No tactics, no formation, nowhere to hide."

"I think we improved. In the first half we had control of the game and we were winning 1-0 but we created chances to score a second goal," said Emery despite the mounting pressure.

"The first five or 10 minutes or so of the second half was positive, how we were playing. We lost control in 15 minutes of the second half and they scored two goals and then we couldn't change the result."

"The last 20 minutes we tried to come back but we didn't create in that moment a big opportunity to score."

The Gunners will now put their focus in the Premier League when they travel to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City over the weekend.
