The Manchester Derby is one of football's longstanding rivalry which has become more pronounced in the last decade or so.
The city's crown, which was held by the Red half of the town has been shared a number of times in recent seasons, with the Blue half the most domineering.
However, despite the rivalry and hostility, there are players who have played for the two sides, and we take a look at some of them who did so in the last decade.
1. Carlos Tevez
The Argentine initially moved to Manchester United on loan from West Ham in 2007, before Alex Furguson decided to make the loan permanent.
He then went on to score 19 goals in 63 appearances in just over two seasons for the Red Devils, before deciding to move across town to City.
He continued with his form in front of goal at his new side under manager Roberto Mancini, eventually leading them to their first title in over 44 years in 20123.
He scored 57 goals in 105 appearances.
2. Owen Hargreaves
At his prime, the Canada-born England international was one of the best in his midfield role.
He played for Bayern Munich before moving to Manchester United, where he established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders.
He helped United win the Champions League in 2008, but injures crept in and hampered his development.
He moved to Manchester City after the expiry of his contract at Old Trafford but did not last long either, making only nine appearances.
3. Peter Schmeichel
Man United are known for their keen eye on good goalkeepers and Peter Schmeichel was arguably the best they had. He led the team to the trebly in 1999.
The Dane left Old Trafford and headed to Portugal with Sporting, before returning to England with Aston Villa.
He, however, found his way to Manchester City in the latter years of his career.
4. Andrei Kanchelskis
Kanchelskis spent four successful years at Old Trafford helping the Reds to the 1993 title and a double the following season having moved for Ukranian powerhouse Shakhtar Donetsk.
After four fruitful years at United, he was sold to Everton in 1995 before moving to Italy with Fiorentina. He was then loaned out to Manchester City in 2001, playing 10 times in the process.
5. Andy Cole
Many will remember Cole for his starring role for United, where he won virtually everything and was a key member of the treble-winning side in 1999, scoring a total of 24 goals in all competitions.
He was however sold to Blackburn in 2001 but ended in Manchester City in 2005 where he continued with his scoring exploits and even at the age of 33, he was the club's top scorer for the single season he played.
