Sensational Zanaco failed to capitalize on home advantage as they were held to a one-all draw by RS Berkane in a matchday two CAF Confederation Cup group stage encounter at the National Heroes Stadium.
Zanaco were looking to collect maximum points and take charge of Group B after their impressive away draw against Motema Pembe last weekend in DR Congo.
Berkane were the first to settle and took the lead just after 15 minutes, Djibril Cheick Ouattara tossing a header past Nsabata in the Zanaco goal to put the Moroccan outfit in the lead.
Zanaco quickly got back into the game with Tafadzwa Rusike pulling the strings in midfield. Charles Zulu leveled matters in the 25th minute with a close-range header after connecting well with a Guily Manziba cross.
Zanaco controlled the majority of the game but failed to utilize the possession in the final third. Towards the end, it was clear Berkane came to play for a draw as they began employing delaying tactics, 1-1 the match finished.
In the other match of the group, Motema Pembe beat Benin side ESAE 2-0 to go stay second on the log. Zanaco has just managed two points from the two games and is in third place, Next is a trip to Benin to face ESAE on the 29th of December.
