Bandari FC urge to win two games on the bounce came to a screeching halt at the Kakamega's Buhkhungu Stadium when they went down 1-0 at the hands of Kakamega Homeboyz on Wednesday 11 December.
Bandari started the game brightly and had a good chance of going into the lead after five minutes when winger Cliff Kasuti found himself with keeper Gabriel Andika but his cheeky lob was well saved by the goalkeeper.
Homeboyz then punished them for failing to grab their opportunities when they came; Chris Masinza opening the goal scoring proceedings in the ninth minute.
Bandari was not relenting though despite the setback and ought to have restored parity at the quarter-hour mark when Collins Agade thunderbolt was parried by Andika only for William Wadri to hit the upright from the rebound. Bandari dominated the play with Wadri and Wilberforce Lugogo missing glorious chances but Homeboyz held onto their one-goal lead heading into the break.
Masinza had other ideas on resumption when he was to see his shot, five minutes after the resumption, being tipped over the bar by keeper Justin Ndikumana; Bandari bringing in Wycliffe Ochomo for Wadri after the scare with David Kingátua being introduced for Lugogo minutes later.
Kingatua's contribution after coming on was a long-range effort that didn't trouble Andika and with Bandari doing all they could to rescue the game, Homeboyz stood the test of time to deny their guest a second win on the trot.
