Chipolopolo midfielder Enock Mwepu has accepted Red Bull Salzburg’s UEFA Champions League group stage exit but is looking ahead to the Europa League.

Salzburg lost 0-2 to Liverpool where Mwepu played 90 minutes - while his countryman Patson Daka came on as a substitute.

“This loss is a motivation for us. For this team, everything is possible in the Europa league. We have should that we can play at the top and we deserve to be proud of ourselves, ” Mwepu said.

Red Bull's full UCL run:

  • Salzburg 6-2 Genk
  • Liverpool 4-3 Salzburg
  • Salzburg 2-3 Napoli
  • Napoli 1-1 Salzburg
  • Genk 1-4 Salzburg
  • Salzburg 0-2 Liverpool.

Dropping into the Europa League does not mean the end of facing Europe's elite though. Salzburg have the possibilities of drawing the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Salzburg remain high on the summit of the Austrian Bundesliga. Next is a trip to Hartberg on Saturday.
