Ashley Young dedicates Man United goal in Alkmaar win to deceased grandmother

Ashley Young has dedicated his opening goal in Manchester United's impressive 4-0 win over AZ Alkmaar to the memory of his grandmother.

The Manchester United captain opened the scoring at Old Trafford seven minutes after the restart as United wrapped up their Europa League group action in style to top their group.

Young, on his twitter account dedicated the goal to his grandmother with the caption 'Grandma I know you’ve waited a couple months, but that one’s for you   '

In the photo accompanying the caption, the 34-year-old is pointing to the sky in his celebration of the goal, signaling the special dedication.

United ran riot after Young's goal, with Mason Greenwood netting a brace while Juan Mata converted from the spot in a crazy 10-minute period to register a huge win.

It has been a near-perfect week for United, who have now won three matches in a row following their successes against Tottenham and Manchester City in the Premier League.

They now shift their attention back to the Premier League on Sunday with Everton visiting Old Trafford.
