AFC Leopards head coach Andre Cassa Mbungo has felt the financial heat at the Den and has tendered his resignation due to the club failing to pay him for the last five months.
Since their main sponsors, SportPesa pulled out of the sponsorship deal due to the new tax regulations by the Kenyan government, AFC Leopards have struggled to make ends meet.
Various players have already left the club with Tresor Ndiukumana walking out and Soter Kayumba joining Rayon Sports in Rwanda due to the club's failure to pay their salaries.
Mbungo had previously lamented about the club's failure to pay his salary and threatened to leave on Friday but stated his love of the game as the reason for his stay.
The Rwandan tactician confirmed his resignation as quoted by the Star, "I had highlighted my plight with the management for quite some time but they seem not to be keen to pay me. I have been patient enough but it's time to quit the club."
Leopards next face a daunting task when they meet Tusker on Sunday 14th December at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
