Zambia U20 national team have been crowned as the 2019 COSAFA Men’s Under-20 Champions following an emphatic 3-0 win over South Africa on Saturday at Nkoloma Stadium.
Striker Jonathan Munalula scored a brace while Francisco Mwepu chipped in with another goal taking his tally to five goals to guide Zambia to their first title since 2016.
Jonathan Munalula put Zambia in the lead five minutes to half time with a superb overhead kick from the edge of the box, Francisco Mwepu added a second at the death of the first half to maintain his goal per game run.
Munalula increased the hosts' lead with six minutes to go to make sure the junior Copper Bullets clinched their eleventh title.
The victory also means Oswald Mutapa becomes the first coach to lift two COSAFA titles in a single year after he also led the Under-17 side to their championship in Malawi in October.
Angola collected bronze medals following a 5-1 victory over Madagascar in their third-place play-off.
