Zesco United's chances of qualifying to the next round of the CAF Champions League were hit a big blow this afternoon when they played out to one draw with Zamalek SC.
Zesco United came into this match having only managed a point in two games and was desperate to record a win.
Zesco created a lot of chances from the onset but they were poor in the final third with Jesse Jackson Were being the major culprit.
The visitors were the first to strike with Mostafa Abdalla finishing off a Mohamed Abd El-Shafy pass to put the Patrice Carteron tutored side in the lead.
The lead only lasted for seven minutes as Quadri Adeokun Kola pulled the hosts level as he finished off a Mwila Phiri pass.
Neither side could find the winner hence they both settled for a point each. Zesco remains stuck in third place with two points to their name.
TP Mazembe played out to a one-all draw with Primiero de Agosto on Friday to stay top of Group group A.
