2012 AFCON winner James Chamanga has ruled out a return to the Zambia National team.
Chamanga has been in fine form for Red Arrows since returning from his decade long spell in China and the fans have been calling for him to be recalled ahead of the CHAN tournament.
Chamanga, however, believes his time with the national team is over and its time for the youngster to be given chance.
“It is like me (Chamanga) playing for the COSAFA, I think it is not right,” Chamanga told Zambia Daily Mail.
“I want to give a chance to upcoming players to showcase their skills. Just like what I have said in the past, I am done with the national team," he added.
Chamanga is the highest scoring Zambian in the league with 8 goals and is just two goals behind Kenyan and Zesco United striker Jesse Were.
Chamanga has featured at five African Cup of Nations and was part of the 2012 Chipolopolo winning squad.
