Sensational Zanaco returned to winning ways this afternoon when they beat Benin outfit Esae FC 3-0 to record their first win in the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup.
The Bankers welcomed the Benin outfit at the National Heroes Stadium looking for their first win in 11 games. Chris Kaunda also took charge of the team for the first time since being appointed as the Bankers head coach.
Zanaco started slow but grew into the match creating chances with Charles Zulu threatening on the win. The Bankers' early approach was long balls to Roger Kola but that did not work out.
Charles Zulu came close twice in the first half but made a mess of his chances both times as the scores remained 0-0 at half time.
Zanaco came back from the break a different side with a little more purpose and took the lead just nine minutes into the second stanza with substitute Ernest Mbewe scoring a powerful thunderbolt to make it 1-0.
Roger Kola doubled the lead three minutes later with an easy finish from inside the 18-yard area and Zanaco controlled the match from that point on. Kola completed the 3-0 win nine minutes to time with an easy tap in after Souleymanou Moussa put the ball in his path.
