Sporting CP head coach Jorge Silas Fernandes, has refused to rule out a move for Bruno Fernandes with the midfielder heavily linked to Manchester United.
Fernandes has been incessantly linked with United since the summer transfer window with reports indicating that he flew to Manchester on Friday to seal a deal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his assistant Mike Phelan are also said to have traveled to Portugal to watch Bruno Fernandes last week.
Speaking after the win over Setubal, Silas was asked if the 25-year-old will be available to play in the derby against Benfica, "I can't guarantee any of these things because I don't know.
"I'm already thinking about the game with Benfica and I'm thinking about using him [Bruno Fernandes]."
Solskjaer was also asked about the possibility of signing Fernandes in his press conference ahead of the Norwich clash, "I can’t talk about individuals that play for other clubs, but I’ve got to say I do have the backing.
"We do have the backing to do something if the right thing comes up in this window. The owners and Ed, they know what we’re building towards."
