Former Celtic striker Chris Sutton is well-known to not be a fan of fellow Old Firm rivals, Rangers but he has been open to paying credit where its due, Sportslens reported.
Rangers beat Celtic 2-1 in Matchday 21 of the Scottish Premiership back in December 2019 and it was rather pleasing for Sutton who doesn't shy away from giving his opinions in relation to the Old Firm.
According to media reports, Sutton was heard saying that Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos, "Buffalo Brains" on live TV and his comments received the wrath of the Rangers fans.
“On the flipside of that, I’ve said Morelos is the best striker in the league,” Sutton told Football Scotland.
“I have to say, if we’re going to stand on television and speak freely in the newspapers, if we can’t say what we think (and of course there are boundaries, and there are times we can’t make it light-hearted), then it’ll just turn into a farce where nobody will say anything.”
Morelos has been an outstanding player for Rangers where he has found himself scoring 12 goals from 19 league matches this season.
It has been no surprise to see the 22-year-old at the centre of transfer news with several clubs around the world targetting his services.
Sutton, despite not being a fan, he has made peace with Morelos being the best striker in the Scottish Premiership.
