Bandari's Mohammed "Messi Agege" Katana is on the verge of joining a Hungarian club after a series of trials, Futaa understands.
Multiple media reports indicate that Katana left the country for trials Hungary in November last year and might be signing a contract with a top club in the coming days.
Bandari has confirmed that the midfielder has been away for trials and that they have received a number of offers for his signature.
The Mombasa-based side, however, said they will not in Katana's way if they get a good offer. The team's team manager Wilson Oburu is quoted as saying that they are prepared to defend their FKF Shield, now renamed Betway Cup, without him.
“Messi is as good as gone. We have received several deals from clubs who want his signature and we won't stand on his way. We would have loved to have him around but for the sake of his progression, we are left with no other option other than to sell him. His departure will not affect us in our bid to achieve a respectable finish in the league,” he was quoted by Kenya's The Star website.
Katana joined Bandari after his deal with Portuguese Segunda side Leixoes SC ran out. The highly-rated Aspire Academy graduate has been tipped to land major deal in one of the top European leagues.
