Absa Premiership giants Orlando Pirates claimed a third-straight win after beating Highlands Park 3-1 in Orlando tonight.
Left-back Bongani Sam had a rare start ahead of Innocent Maela while Owena Da Gama started with Reneilwe Letsholonyane.
Pirates took an early lead when Lorch surprised Park’s keeper Kyle Peters with a deft finish inside 10 minutes. It was quickly 2-0 as Mhango’s pressing helped him to dribble past Peters before passing into the net.
Pirates punished the Lions of the North with a third goal before 45 minutes. Mako made powerful run past three defenders to hit home with his right foot.
Da Gama’s side pulled a goal back in the final 10 minutes. Mlungisi Mbunjana picked up from a careless Lorch pass before a solo run that he finished with a powerful shot past Wayne Sandilands.
Pirates eventually managed the game with ball possession and ended the night with maximum three points. Bucs now remain on fifth position.
