Sensational Zanaco thrashed defending Champions Zesco United 3-0 in a week 18 MTN/FAZ Super League encounter to move out of the relegation zone.

The Bankers welcomed Zesco United and following Power Dynamos draw with Kansanshi Dynamos which meant they dropped back into the relegation zone they were looking to move out of it.

George Lwandamina named a strong squad for the visitors with Tafadzwa Rusike in the starting line up making his return to Sunset Stadium.

Zanaco started strong and dominated the early exchanges. Chitiya Mususu broke the deadlock just two minutes into the match.

Roger Kola doubled the lead seven minutes later before making it three in the 20th minute to put the Bankers in the driving seat.

In the second stanza, Zesco United tried to push for goals but Zanaco was compact with Chris Kaunda making three changes, first withdrawing Enerst Mbewe for debutant William Njobvu.

Kaunda then later brought in two defenders in Lawrence Chungu and Peter Banda for Charles Zulu and Chitiya Mususu to successfully defend their three goals and seal a well deserved 3-0 win.

Zesco United, on the other hand, has lost three consecutive games and has only managed to pick up four points from a possible 18.
