Jurgen Klopp aims a dig at Manchester United after Liverpool win

After the 2-0 win over Manchester United, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp accused the Red Devils of not trying to play football and were instead too focused on ‘annoying’ his team.

Liverpool maintained their unbeaten record this season with a win over arch-rivals United, courtesy of goals from Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.

The win opened up a 16-point gap over Manchester City and a massive 30 points gap between them and United who have been inconsistent this season.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the win over United, Klopp took a swipe at the Red Devils, "What a performance against an opponent with the quality of United, and the set up of United.

"Ole will say the same, they wanted to annoy us, distract our game, defend and counter-attack. They had moments when they played football but not too often.

"The other moments it was difficult to create chances, but the manner we created chances was exceptional."

Liverpool next face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday, January 20 while United host Burnley a day earlier.
