NSL: Bidco United, City Stars boost promotion hopes with wins as Mount Kenya issue a walkover

Nairobi city Stars continued to show their intentions towards the promotion to the Kenyan Premier League after a 2-0 win over Vihiga Bullets.

The win saw them cement their place at the top of the National Super League log with 40 points with Bidco United, who are the other promotion hopefuls also recording a win.

Hosts Bidco had to give their all to down a spirited Migori Youth 2-1 at the Thika Stadium on Sunday; the win being their 13th in the 20 games they have played this season.

Bidco is now six points clear of third-placed Vihiga United after the latter fell to a 2-1 loss at the hands of FC Talanta on Sunday.

Nairobi Stima who are placed fourth on the log missed the chance to pile pressure on the other leading teams when they lost a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Kenya Police on Saturday while fifth-placed Ushuru kept their hopes alive with a 3-2 win over APS Bomet.

Away from the promotion race, former Kenyan Premier League side Mount Kenya United dished a walkover after they failed to travel to the Coast for their match against Coast Stima.
