Ghana international Abdul Majeed Waris has revealed that making a return to France was one of the main agendas of his career and feels pleased it has finally happened, FootballGhana reported.
Waris was recalled by FC Porto from his loan spell with FC Nantes in Ligue 1 last season but admitted that he always felt like he needed to be in France.
The 28-year-old has officially returned to Ligue 1 after signing a one-year loan deal with RC Strasbourg with an option to buy of €2million at the end of the season.
"I'm very happy to come to Racing. It was my priority to come back to France. Strasbourg is a club I know," he told the club's official website.
"I played against Strasbourg recently with FC Nantes. There is an incredible atmosphere in the stadium and I want to experience some great moments with the fans at Le Meinau.
"I hope to bring my qualities to a team that already has very good strikers."
Waris is Strasbourg's first signing in the January transfer window and will wear the jersey number 8 for the duration of his loan spell.
