New Black Stars coach CK Akonnor has offered his reaction to Ghana’s World Cup 2020 Qualification draw.
The former Black Stars international, who replaced James Kwesi Appiah this month, said he ‘knows’ the opponents but is counting on his team’s work ethic.
With the West African giants having missed out on Brazil 2014 after a hat-trick of qualifications for Germany 2006, SA 2010 and Brazil, missing out on Russia 2018 presents a time to make a return to the big world stage.
"The last one we went to was in Brazil, we didn't qualify for the last one and we are hoping and believing that this is the time for us to be back there.
"But it is important for us to put in hard work. It is the desire for all the teams to qualify but we will put a lot of work in the desire to qualify,” added the former Asante Kotoko coach.
