Ghana defender Opuku set to move to French side from Udinese

Ghana international Nicholas Opuku is in France to undergo a medical ahead of his loan move from Italian side Udinese to Amiens SC.

Opuku has struggled for form and playing time since moving to Italy from Tunisia's top side Club African two years ago. The 22-year-old defender has struggled to find a place in both Luca Gotti and Igor Tudor's sides.

Media reports in Ghana last week indicated that Opuku was ready to end his unhappy stay in the Italian city of Turin and crossover to France as he sought more playing ahead of Ghana's 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Futaa understands that the two clubs have reached an agreement for a one-and-eight-months loan deal with an option to purchase. Amiens will pay an initial 500,000 Euros for the loan and if they decide to make the move permanent, they will part with 5million Euros.

Opuku will be hoping that he will help Amiens survive relegation as they are placed third from bottom with 18 points after 20 games.
