Ajax Amsterdam title charge has been dealt a blow after they confirmed that attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech will be out for weeks.
The Moroccan limped off after just 59 minutes in their Eredivisie tie against Sparta Rotterdam last weekend.
In a short statement, the club on Thursday confirmed that Ziyech suffered a calf injury and will be unavailable for weeks. They didn't specify when they will expect him back. Reports, however, indicate that he might be in time for their Europa clash against Spain's Getafe in late February.

The 26-year-old has been in rich form this season scoring six times and registered 12 assists in the Eredivisie.
Ajax is currently perched on top of the league with 47 points, six ahead of AZ Alkmaar. They, however, failed to replicate their form in last season's Champions League where they reached the semi-finals. They were eliminated in the group stages and relegated to Europa League.
