Uganda Premier League leaders Vipers SC on Thursday confirmed the sacking of head coach Edward Golola and his entire technical bench.
Vipers were eliminated from Uganda Cup on Wednesday by regional side Kajjansi United. The two teams played to a one-all draw before Kajjansi dispatched their Entebbe Road neighbours 8-7 on post-match penalties.
Vipers announced the sacking in a statement posted on its website and thanked the coach with his team for the service to the club.
"A caretaker technical team will be appointed until the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time coach," it read in part.
Golola was re-appointed as the club's head coach for a third stint in 2019, replacing Kenyan Michael Nam Omondi.
Vipers are currently on top of the UPL with 42 points, four ahead of KCCA after 18 rounds of matches. They next play Mbarara City in UPL on January 28.
