Chelsea's five-year deal with Yokohama tyres as their official shirt partner will come to an end at the end of the current season, but they are set to renew their partnership off the pitch.
The club has agreed with the Japanese company to continue being their Official Global Tyre Partner.
Announcing this, the club's Commercial Director Chris Townsend said;
"We are very pleased to announce our extended partnership with Yokohama. Having been on our shirts for many momentous victories and significant trophies lifted, Yokohama’s brand forms part of our Club’s proud history," he noted as quoted by the club's official website.
"We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Yokohama around the world, leveraging their significant brand awareness to meet new objectives," he added.
The company's president and Chairman of the Board Masataka Yamaishi thanked the club as well as the fans for their continued support.
"Chelsea is a world-class football club and we have been proud of our partnership and presence on the prestigious shirt for the last five years. Yokohama and Chelsea have many shared values, including a dedication to high performance and innovation, which has resonated with fans and our customers alike around the world,"
During the five-year period Yokohama sponsored Chelsea shirts, the men’s team were crowned the 2016/17 Premier League champions, won the FA Cup in 2018 and tasted European victory in the Europa League last season.
The women's team won a league and cup double, while the youth teams excelled in their respective age levels including being crowned European champions.
