Ex-Nigeria international Ike Shorunmu has advised the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to simply be straight with Gernot Rohr.
Shorunmu has come out to say that the NFF & Rohr’s unresolved contractual issues has all the potential to badly affect the Super Eagles qualifiers in both the 2021 AFCON & 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.
Rohr’s running deal ends in June and yet no new deal has been tabled ahead of the business end of the qualification campaigns.
“What I want the Federation to understand is that, if you want someone let him know, and if you want him let them sit down and tie him to new deal so he can concentrate on the job at hand,” Shorunmu suggested to FootballLive.
“They should just stop all what we have been hearing in the media, so the man can face the AFCON qualifiers and the World Cup qualifiers,” added the former goalkeeping international.
As confirmed in CAF’s draw last week, Nigeria have landed in Group C of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with Cape Verde, Central African Republic and Liberia.
