Former Kariobangi Sharks striker Sydney Lokale made his European debut for Finland's HIFK Fotball in on Sunday 26 January in a Cup game that ended in a 1-1 draw against Honka.
Sydney joined HIK earlier in the month on a loan deal that will last through the season from Sharks with the club having an option to buy the player permanently should impress in the season.
Visitors HIF shocked hosts Honka at the Tapiolan Stadium when they took a sixth-minute lead through Tiquinho; a lead they were to preserve until the break. The hosts however restored parity in the 57th minute through a penalty from Lucas Kaufmann.
Lokale who started from the bench came on in the 79th minute for Mattson but it did less for HIK who had been forced to play the better part of the game with a man less after Saira received his second yellow card of the game in the 57th minute. Kenyan goalkeeper Arnold Origi completed the 90 minutes.
Lokale will hope he can get more playing time when they host HJK in a Cup game on Saturday 1 February.
