Ghanaian striker Kwabena Owusu reportedly left Spanish side, Cordoba, due to unpaid wages, it has emerged according to Ghanasoccernet reports.
Owusu signed a three-year contract with Azerbaijani club Qarabag FK after failing to reach an agreement with Cordoba.
There were several reports that claimed the 22-year-old left due to a sour relationship with the club, however, it was later on confirmed that the Spanish side were outstanding in their payments to the player.
"After talking to the club and the coach, the coaching staff looked forward to my departure so they could bring in their own players," Owusu said.
Qarabag FK officially announced the signing of Owusu on Friday, January 24 and has now joined his teammates for training sessions.
According to Ghanasoccernet, the young striker admitted that he joined the club with hopes one day playing in the UEFA Champions League or the Europa League respectively.
