Sporting Lisbon head coach Silas has refused to confirm whether Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes will stay at the club.
Fernandes, who has been heavily linked with a move to United was part of Lisbon's squad that beat Maritimo 1-0 in the Primeira Liga last night. Speaking after the match, Silas admitted he could not confirm whether the United target would stay at the club.
"I cannot confirm that it was his last game. I would like him to stay, but I cannot say whether he will or will not," he said.
“Bruno is a different player. He sees things that nobody does. Diagonal movements, long passes… Any team that had Bruno and lost him would suffer, and we will if we lose him we will suffer. If we lose him, we’ll have to find solutions.”
Sporting are holding out for £68m, with the English side said to be willing to fork out £51m. He is under contract at the Estadio Jose Alvalade until 2023.
