Central Africa regional tournaments revival afoot

The Union of Football Federations of Central Africa (UNIFFAC) wants to revive regional football tournaments and other activities in the region.

UNIFFAC executive committee met over the weekend under the leadership of its president Gustvao Edu and announced the resumption of various regional tournaments.

They announced that U-17 Women's Tournament will take place from February 18 to 27 in Equatorial Guinea. It will be followed by U-17 Men's Tournament in Cameroon which will also serve as regional qualifiers for U-17 African championships.

In November, Chad will host the U-20 championships as well as senior men's and Women's tournaments.

UNIFFAC has been criticised for its inactivity and as it hasn't held any regional tournaments in years. Its current members include Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo and DR Congo. Others are Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and São Tomé and Príncipe.
