Ole Gunnar Solskjaer speaks ahead of possible Wayne Rooney FA Cup reunion

With Manchester United facing the prospect of meeting Derby County in the FA Cup Fifth Round, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted it would be nice to come up against Wayne Rooney.

Derby play Northampton in a replay clash after a 0-0 draw with the winner earning a chance of hosting United in the Fifth Round.

United faced Derby last season when Jose Mourinho's side were dumped out of the Carabao Cup on penalties but might face a familiar face in the name of Rooney should they beat Northampton.

In an interview with MUTV, Solskjaer reacted to the prospect of facing Solskjaer, "Yeah, it is another away game. But, of course it would be nice to meet Wayne on the pitch again. He is still a top player.

"So let's see how they do first in the replay. But, of course, it is now through to the fifth round, and we are getting closer."

United booked their place in the FA Cup Fifth Round after an emphatic 6-0 win over Tranmere Rovers with six different scorers on the list.
