What has happened since Liverpool’s last defeat in the Premier League at Anfield

With how Liverpool is playing at the moment, it is very easy to believe that they have not lost a game at home in the Premier League and actually, in any European match, since April 23, 2017.

Christian Benteke came back and haunted his former side with two goals, and maybe we should blame him for this because it’s like he woke a beast up.

It has been just over 1,000 days since they lost at home.

Yeah, you have read it right. 1000. Please note, that during this period, they have hosted Barcelona, Napoli, Manchester City...all these giants couldn’t stop the beasts.

They promoted Andy Robertson to the first team and this lad has never tasted a loss at Anfield.

But, what other things have happened in the world since the 1-2 loss?

Christian Benteke only has five Premier League goals

Did he maybe jinx himself with that brace at Anfield?

Since 2017, Benteke has managed to score just five Premier League goals! At least he is still at Palace though.

(Oh, and least he's getting yellow cards! Shows he is getting game time!)

Lionel Messi has scored 119 goals for Barcelona

Arguably the best in the game, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has scored 119 goals for his club.

The crazy thing about this is, he was at 500 goals on the same day Palace beat Liverpool!

Wayne Rooney has played for 4 clubs

Since that loss, Wazza had had an interesting career.

He has played for Manchester United, Everton, DC United and Derby County.

He's also played for England, retired from international duty and come out of retirement to play a one-off game.

Modric has won the Ballon d’Or

This was crazy because we were really used to the dominance of Cr7 and Messi.

But in 2018, Modric won the Ballon d'Or, becoming the first player other than Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo to claim the award in more than a decade.

It gets better (or worse depending on who you support), Ronaldo came second and Messi finished fifth!

US President Trump was impeached

Let’s get a little political now, because why not?

Back in December 2019 Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, was impeached on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

Can you imagine that Andy Robertson has seen a president getting impeached and still has not lost a game at his home ground!?

5 iPhones have been released

This could not wait for a Liverpool loss at home.

Since the loss, we have had iPhone 8 & 8 Plus (September 2017), iPhone X (November 2017), iPhone XS & XS Max (September 2018), iPhone XR (October 2018), iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max (September 2019)

The Reds are 22 points ahead of second-place Manchester City and with West Ham, Bournemouth, C. Palace, Aston Villa, Burnley, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea to go at home, who knows? Someone might just beat them at Anfield!
