Bashiru Hayford has reportedly resigned from his role as the head coach of the Somalia national team according to Ghana Guardian.
Hayford is believed to have handed in his resignation to the Somalia Football Association (SFA) on Monday, insisting that his departure is motivated by the ongoing political instability in the country.
He took over the reins in Somalia back in March 2019 and he inspired the country to a victory over Zimbabwe in the 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup Qualifiers in November 2019 - certainly the country best-ever finish in 35 years.
Bashiru has been very successful in his native Ghana following two Ghana Premier League titles with Asante Kotoko as well as AshantiGold.
