Frank Lampard has rubbished claims that Hakim Ziyech's arrival will signal the end of Willian, Pedro or both.
The Morocco international will link up with the London club in the summer after the two clubs reached an agreement on Thursday.
It is feared his arrival, coupled with the presence of youngsters at the club, will force the two stalwarts out of the club, but Lampard is of a different opinion.
"Ha, you're getting to the point there aren't you? No it doesn't," Lampard responded to the question on whether Ziyech's arrival will be the end of the two players.
"Those conversations are ongoing with both players. We've brought in a quality player who can play in various positions so it doesn't have a one-on-one effect on any player," he added.
He then went on to praise the duo, saying the have been great servants and very professional at all times.
"Without a doubt, both for successful periods at the club. Both I've found to be very professional, willing and wanting to work this year and help the younger players. And get results, which is the main thing. Regardless, what they have done at this club is very well received from our end."
Chelsea will play Manchester United on Monday night in a key Premier League match, knowing a win will open a nine-point gap between them and give them some cushion in the race for a top-four finish.
