Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has moved to clear the air on the future of youngster Bukayo Saka who is believed to be attracting interest from league rivals Manchester United and Liverpool.
Saka-who has been a key member of the Arsenal team since Arteta took over-has 18 months left on his contract but Arteta believes him and other youngsters will be sorted by the right people going by their impressive performances.
“I'm really happy with how they (the young players) are developing. Part of their development is to improve their contract and tie them to the club but I have to follow a natural process.
"We have Raul (Sanllehi), we have Edu (Gaspar), Vinai (Venkatesham) and Huss (Fahmy) who are in charge of that and I’m sure we will do the right thing when players deserve improved contracts," Arteta said.
Despite his brilliant form and contribution, Saka earns around £3,000-per-week in North London a figure he feels should be improved in his new deal; the player having featured 23 times for the club this season.
Saka who is naturally a winger or wide-forward has been played at left-back by Arteta for most of his appearances, stepping in following injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac.
He qualifies for Nigeria through his parents but neither nation had made approaches about him committing his future.
