Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has remained coy on whether or not Odion Ighalo will make his debut against Chelsea on Monday night.
The Norwegian denied reports quoting him that the Nigerian will make his club debut against the London side, saying the striker will be in the team but not guaranteed a starting spot.
The former Watford striker arrived at the Manchester club in the recently concluded January transfer window and is yet to train with the rest of the senior squad.
“I never said he was going to be ready to play on Monday,” Solskjaer told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
“He'll be involved with us and he'll travel down with us and, obviously, now he's out of that two-week period of precaution and it's a precaution we've made.
“He'll travel with us and let's see if he's involved or not.
“He's done his [training programme] and it was always going to be a case of him having to integrate into the group anyway after having been out in China. He needs to get used to the players and the team and up to speed as quick as he can.” he added.
Marcus Rashford's absence might force the Norwegian to use the Nigerian as the lead striker, with Antony Martial and Mason Greenwood pulling wide to accommodate him in the event he decides to pick an all-attacking side.
