Manchester City has secured the signing of Coritiba right-back Yan Couto, according to reports coming out of Brazil.
Outlet Gazeta do Povo reports that the clubs have reached agreement on a deal worth €6m for 17-year-old and the Brazilian side won't receive any percentage of any future transfers for Couto.
The amount that Coritiba receive for the player could rise dramatically though, depending on performance bonuses that would be triggered if Couto reaches certain appearance thresholds in the Premier League. The entire fee could rise by another €6m in this regard.
Because Couto is still 17, he needs to wait to turn 18 to complete a move and that happens on 3 June this year. It has been claimed that both Arsenal and Barcelona had enquired about Couto, who has yet to make his debut for the Coritiba first team.
He might do so in the early hours of Saturday morning (02:00 EAT) when Coritiba takes on Cianorte in the Campeonato Paranaense.
